DA-Design Oy was established in 1995 by local engineering students in Forssa. Over a quarter of a century, the company has grown into a consolidated corporation. Today, DA-Group employs over 140 professionals. In addition to the headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Forssa, the company also has offices in Helsinki, Oulu, Tampere and Kaarina in the Turku region.
From the founding members, two people continue as owners and managers of the company: Sami Kotiniemi, Chief Executive Officer (sitting at the table on the left) and Kari Vainio, Chief Information and Security Officer (sitting at the table on the right).
In early 2016, DA-Group moved to the property it purchased from Hämeen Paino Oy, a printing mill and part of Sanoma Group. The premises include a 25,000 m2 building and 260,000 m2 land. These premises enabled DA-Group to significantly expand its electronics production capacity.
DA-Group has systematically designed and built special functional areas within the premises. For example, there are large electronics manufacturing halls with SMD equipment and electronics assembly lines. In the cleanroom, there are microcircuit bonding stations. The air is filtered and both temperature and humidity are accurately controlled. The precision-mechanics shop houses state-of-the-art automated machining centers with robotics. There are also RF and other testing laboratories in the premises.
